Whilst many countries around the world take education and opportunities to gain skills for granted, we know only too well that in India nothing could be further from the truth. The key to improving lives has always been and always will be through learning. This is especially true of girls, who in adulthood ensure that their children continue to develop and progress. In an increasingly uncertain world, it seems to us that education is more than ever vital in order for people to survive and succeed.
OUR OBJECTIVES.
The prevention and relief of poverty in India, by providing or assisting in the provision of accommodation, education, training and healthcare projects. Through support, including financial support and helping in the implementation of projects, together with the help of volunteers, we hope to enable individuals, through education, to generate a sustainable income and be self sufficient in their local community.
HOW CAN THIS BE DONE?
One of Mahatma Gandhi's quotes was 'Be The Change You Wish To See In The World'. We know there are many, many individuals throughout India who tirelessly and selflessly give of their time and money to help children and young women to develop themselves to the point of independent living. Not only do they get a good education, but continue to learn a life enhancing skill. Whilst education is vital, without a skill their lives cannot progress in a sustained and meaningful manner. We all need to be able to provide for ourselves and our family. We all need to be able to look to the future. We all need to have hope. Through our support,fundraising and voluntary work, we know that not only is this probable, but that it is possible. This is our vision for the children and young women of the projects we are presently engaged in.
